How cold is Mount Batur in the early morning?
Temperatures at the sunrise point (1,700 meters above sea level) drop to 14°C – 18°C before dawn. We provide cozy blankets in our jeeps, but we strongly advise wearing a warm windbreaker jacket, long pants, and closed-toe sneakers.
What is the maximum capacity per 4x4 Jeep?
For vehicle balance and strict passenger safety on volcanic rocky slopes, each classic 4x4 Jeep accommodates a maximum of 3 passengers plus 1 professional local driver. For groups larger than 3, additional jeeps travel together in a convoy.
What time will I be picked up from my hotel?
Pickup times depend on your villa/hotel location in Bali:
- Kuta / Seminyak / Canggu / Jimbaran: 02:15 – 02:45 AM
- Sanur / Denpasar: 02:45 – 03:00 AM
- Ubud: 03:00 – 03:20 AM
- Kintamani / Batur: 04:00 – 04:30 AM
Can young children and elderly family members join?
Yes! The great advantage of our Jeep tour is skipping the exhausting 2-hour uphill trek. Children aged 4 and above and active seniors regularly enjoy the open-air ride safely.
Can I drive the Jeep myself?
For your safety and local regulations, all our Jeeps are driven by certified, highly experienced local drivers who navigate steep volcanic inclines and jagged lava trails every day. You can sit back, relax, and take incredible photos!
What should I wear and bring on the tour?
We recommend:
- Warm jacket / hoodie and comfortable pants
- Comfortable sneakers or sports shoes (no high heels or flip-flops)
- Smartphone / camera with plenty of battery
- Sunglasses and sunscreen (for daytime Black Lava exploration)
- Swimwear and fresh clothes if you book the Hot Springs combo
How does payment work? Is a deposit required?
Standard bookings on our website require no full upfront prepayment. You can pay conveniently on the day of the tour in cash (IDR) or via card / transfer to our tour team.
Is tour insurance included?
Yes, all passengers booked through official Bali Jeep Experience channels are covered by standard passenger tour insurance throughout the scheduled itinerary.
