Mount Batur is an active volcano with rugged terrain. Our team is highly trained to navigate these conditions, but we require your cooperation to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.
🧥 What to Wear & Bring
- Warm Clothing: Temperatures at the sunrise point (1,700m elevation) can drop to 14°C - 17°C before dawn. Bring a thick jacket or windbreaker.
- Footwear: Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes (sneakers or trekking shoes). Avoid sandals or high heels as the terrain is rocky and uneven.
- Sun Protection: For Black Lava tours during the day, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are highly recommended.
🚙 Jeep Safety Rules
- Stay Seated: Keep arms and legs inside the vehicle while it is moving over rough off-road terrain.
- Listen to the Driver: Our drivers are experienced locals who know the mountain. Always follow their instructions, especially during steep climbs or descents.
- Capacity: A strict maximum of 3 passengers per Jeep is enforced to maintain vehicle balance and safety on steep volcanic inclines.
🌋 On the Mountain (Black Lava & Crater)
- Do Not Wander Off: The caldera is massive and features sharp volcanic rocks and steep drops. Always stay within sight of your guide.
- Watch Your Step: The black lava fields are composed of jagged, sharp igneous rocks. Walk carefully and do not climb unstable rock formations.
- Medical Conditions: If you suffer from severe motion sickness, back problems, or are pregnant, please consult your doctor before booking, as the off-road ride is extremely bumpy.
